The Early Bird........

When you stay at Grandma/Papa's House for the weekend, the day starts early! VERY EARLY! The first order of business is to clean up after Papa's pet dragon! Messy, but it does keep the neighbor kids off my lawn!

Friday evening we went to the Metro Parks where they were having their Haunted Weekends! So the three boys had to start with their pictures! Admission to the park was free and there were food vendors for festival kind of food staples. Hmmm! a cup of hot cider. The hiking path thru the woods was full of carved pumpkins and haunted houses and ghosts and goblins.

King Evan of Pumperdink Drive pauses in front of a marsh full of "floating" Jack-O-Lanterns! When they are lit at night, the effect of the pumpkins floating with their reflections is said to be quite eeeerrrrrrie!

We paused at one of the haunted houses along the way to chat with the local host of ghouls and such! they were quite amused with King Evan's costume, so he had to pose with the Queen ghoul and her pet kat!

As we wandered through the haunted forest, we came upon a witch with her pot on boil!
She invited us to stay and sit a "spell"! and she entertained us with stories of magic and flying owls.

The stories captured all of our attention, but when she wanted us to stay for dinner, it was time to press on!

Saturday was a full day as the three amigos were up, dressed, breakfasted, and out of the house by 9:00a.m. The adventure started at the Cleveland Zoo and ended up at Brookpark riding the train. We took the train to the airport and ran around through the terminal riding escalators! Evan knew up and down escalators, but he was truly amazed with the sideways escalators! Grady enjoyed them too, once he got used to moving without moving his little legs! We'll post more pictures of them later!

Saturday evening was to be an evening of pumpkin carving (or making a mess in Grandma's kitchen!) First a little preparation and fresh bought pumpkins!

This was Grady's first exposure to extreme adventures with Papa! I had to convince him that we are MEN and we don't need instructions! And not to worry! Papa has POWER TOOLS in the garage if things get bogged down!

This is how it starts! Insert Knife here and start carving. It's okay, Papa put his hands in there to clean out all of the goopy stuff! There are just some things that are to yucky to touch if you don't have too!

AAARRRGGGHHHH! the pirates of the pymatuming strike again! striking terror on land and sea!

this is a late addition! The boys took their jack-o-lanterns home with them and this is a picture of the 3 of them lit on their front steps! oooooooooohhhhhhhhooooo!

More later! Papa

Breakfast with Grandma!

The boys are growing up! And they do enjoy their time with Grandma too! They are enjoyable enough to take out for a "Special" breakfast with Grandma and Papa!

And Evan has to order his own off the menu!

And Grady is calling for the waitress asking for more pancakes!

The Boys!

This has been quite an eventful past few weeks for all of us. But for me, my heartsong comes from being with my boys! (and their parents too!)These will be just a few notes to share some of our adventures!

NOBODY gives duckunders like Papa!

How can you not love a smile like this!

The picture of sweetness!

Of course, it is that time of year now! And the monster house by Grandma/Papa's house is up again! (my question is where the heck do you keep all of this stuff durning the rest of the year!)
